Desde seu anúncio na E3 2013, o mais novo exclusivo do PS4 passou por uma montanha russa de expectativas e decepções. Apesar das inúmeras controvérsias, minha vontade de adentrar o mundo de “The Order” seguiu inabalada. Sorte a minha! O jogo é, sim, um dos destaques dessa primeira leva de títulos para o PS4. PROBLEMAS PRECOCES Vindo das mãos da Ready at Dawn, estúdio formado por ex-membros da Naughty Dog e Blizzard e responsáveis pelos ótimos “God of War” para PSP, “The Order” causou furor desde sua primeira aparição. O trailer de anúncio, com visual incrível, apresentou quatro personagens munidos de um super-arsenal e enfrentando monstros nas ruas de uma Londres steampunk. A impressão inicial era de que “The Order” entregaria aos jogadores uma experiência multiplayer cooperativa, aos moldes de “Gears of War” e “Left 4 Dead”. Mas as expectativas acabaram frustradas pouco tempo depois, quando foi confirmado que “The Order” seria um game single-player. Mesmo estando entre aqueles que desejavam um jogo cooperativo, eu ainda acreditava no potencial do jogo e daquela Londres vitoriana e alternativa. Com a receita certa, “The Order” poderia render uma boa narrativa, focada nas invenções da época e no cenário recheado de monstros, e quem sabe novas mecânicas para o gênero shooter. Ao ser disponibilizado para teste, “The Order” voltou a ser alvo da crítica. Embora todos elogiassem os assombrosos gráficos em tempo real, muitos se queixavam de que o gameplay era extremamente linear e os combates chatos e sem inspiração, mera reciclagem de mecânicas de outros jogos já consagrados como “Uncharted”. Até mesmo a tarja preta, utilizada para aumentar a sensação cinematográfica, gerou dúvidas nos jogadores seria uma escolha estética ou uma limitação técnica para chegar na resolução 1080p? Com tanta controvérsia, era esperado que o jogo final dividiria opiniões. AFINAL, O QUE É A ORDEM? Você se lembra do Rei Arthur e dos Cavaleiros da Távola Redonda em sua incansável busca pelo Santo Graal? Pois é, em um cenário realista, seria impossível eles continuarem vivos em 1886, mas, na ficção, pra tudo se dá um jeito! Nossos heróis são descendentes dos membros da távola original, que no jogo formam a Ordem. Quando um cavaleiro morre ou é deposto, outro é escolhido para ficar em seu lugar e a távola, ou melhor, a Ordem continua a serviço do rei. No controle de Sir Galahad, o mais puro e justo dos cavaleiros, e com a companhia de Sir Percival, Sir Lafayette e Lady Igraine, temos a missão de eliminar a ameaça dos half-breeds, híbridos entre humanos e lobos que estão causando o terror nas ruas de Londres. UM JOGO OU UM FILME INTERATIVO? The Order é uma experiência cinematográfica com uma narrativa cadenciada. Em vez de abusar de reviravoltas e cenas de ação, os desenvolvedores optaram por focar nos diálogos e atuações que, diga-se de passagem, são de tirar o chapéu! O sotaque britânico já é legal por si só, mas capricharam na hora de dar vida aos personagens. Mesmo com muitos diálogos e cutscenes longas, o jogo contém elementos suficientes para afastá-lo do rótulo “filme interativo”. As partes de shooter são consistentes e divertidas, mesmo não sendo tão desafiadoras. Jogando no hard, só senti dificuldade nas últimas batalhas. Ainda que funcione bem, a mecânica de tiro foi apenas reciclada para não dizer copiada de outros jogos. Não há nada de novo aqui encontrar uma proteção, atirar e se esconder é o segredo para avançar. A falta de originalidade nas batalhas foi compensada em outros elementos de gameplay. Ao achar um item importante para a história, Galahad o segura em mãos para que o jogador possa inspecioná-lo. O grau de realismo nessas cenas é impressionante, com texturas e iluminação que beiram o real enquanto você manuseia os objetos, curtindo os detalhes. O uso de quick-time events é constante. Apertar ou martelar o botão indicado na hora certa para abrir uma porta, escapar de um ataque ou vencer um duelo de força soa ultrapassado, mas funciona na prática. A tática deixa o jogador focado na ação, mas isso não impediu que muitas vezes eu acabasse morrendo por descuido ou desatenção, me obrigando a redobrar o foco na próxima jogada. As batalhas contra os chefes abusam dessa artimanha técnica, mas isso não compromete a emoção. AS CRIAÇÕES DE TESLA Aparições de personagens históricos não são novidades no mundo dos games. “Assassins Creed” já nos colocou ao lado de Leonardo da Vinci, Cesari Borgia, George Washington e outros. Em “The Order”, o responsável por seu arsenal é Nikola Tesla, e, se não fosse por ele, o jogo nem existiria. Não que ele seja mais importante que o personagem principal, mas Tesla é o pai do conceito de corrente alternada que leva energia até seu videogame, computador, etc. No jogo, Tesla cria armas e equipamentos úteis para Galahad no decorrer da trama. Dentre eles, um monóluco especial que serve não apenas para enxergar longe, mas também marcar zonas de ataques de zeppelin, um rádio comunicador e até mesmo um aparato desengonçado para destruir sistemas elétricos. A semelhança com o famoso “Q”, que desenvolve as parafernalhas de James Bond, é óbvia. Em certo momento, você visita o laboratório de Tesla e pode conhecer algumas de suas engenhocas, inclusive um panfleto onde Thomas Edison desafia Tesla para um duelo. Caso tenha faltado à aula de história, Edison acabou derrotado ao defender o conceito de corrente contínua. O arsenal da Ordem varia desde pistolas até um rifle de raios que mata com apenas um tiro. O destaque fica para a Thermite Gun com um tiro você dispara combustível e com outro você causa uma combustão e coloca seu algoz em chamas. O efeito de fogo e fumaça enquanto o inimigo queima é inacreditável! DELEITE AUDIOVISUAL “The Order” é um marco gráfico nessa geração. Seja em meio à ação ou parando pra observar os cenários, a parte visual foi trabalhada com muito esmero. Todas as texturas parecem palpáveis, com uma qualidade nunca vista em um game. A iluminação é ultra realista e são usados vários efeitos como desfoque de movimento e profundidade de campo para deixar o jogo com cara de película. As roupas e detalhes dos cenários foram tão bem construídos que, junto com as animações suaves dos personagens, fazem um desavisado pensar que está passando um filme de época na TV. Em uma parte específica do jogo, você precisa atravessar os jardins de uma mansão sem que os inimigos te encontrem. Está escuro, chovendo e o cenário é iluminado por postes com design renascentista, de luzes fracas. Fiquei tanto tempo de boca aberta, sem reação, que perdi a conta de quantas vezes fui encontrado pelo inimigo. A trilha sonora também dá um show, com melodias orquestradas para dar o tom pesado que o jogo pede. TERMINA EM 5 HORAS? Muito se especulou sobre a linearidade e duração do jogo. Agora, com ele em mãos, vou direto ao ponto “The Order” é mesmo curto e linear. A campanha pode ser terminada em 7 horas assistindo todas as cutscenes e vasculhando os cenários. Eu demorei em média 9 horas jogando na dificuldade mais alta e enrolando em algumas partes para curtir os gráficos. Infelizmente, depois de terminado, o jogo não oferece muito fator replay. É possível pegar a platina em apenas uma jogada, desde que você saiba o que os troféus pedem e ficar ligado nos itens espalhados pelos cenários. Se você procura ação desenfreada e um roteiro hollywoodiano cheio de reviravoltas e momentos impactantes, esse jogo não é pra você. “The Order 1886” é uma experiência única para os jogadores de PS4 que querem sentir do que o console é capaz e que gostam de boas narrativas.
